My Story

Hello! Thank you for opening your heart to this mission!

I am from Brecksville, Ohio, and I am finishing my first year at Bowling Green State University as a pre-nursing student. This summer, I’ve been given the incredible opportunity to be a missionary at Damascus’s Catholic Youth Summer Camp, where through my position on Counseling Staff, I will not only help lead teens closer to the Lord, but be able to grow and deepen my own faith.

This past year, God has been working in my life in so many different ways. Transitioning from a high school senior to a freshman in college has been a major shock, but the Lord has been with me through it all. Now that my first year is almost over, I so strongly believe that He’s lead me right to where I belong. Not only that, but He’s introduced me to a community of beautiful people who love Him, and have encouraged me to reach outside of my comfort zone, towards Him. I first heard about Damascus from my friends who had been campers, and was inspired to apply as a summer missionary when I heard my friend was planning to. I was never a camper, so my first in-person experience with Damascus was during my interview, and I immediately fell in love with the place and the people.

Everyone at Damascus is so filled with God’s light, and I am so excited to join their mission this summer to help enhance and encourage faith in teens through a fun and memorable way. God keeps working every day, and he’s especially pushed me even further outside of my comfort zone when I was placed at CYSC’s Great Lakes, Michigan campus.

I’m ready embrace this summer for the incredible opportunity that it is, and I invite you to join me on this journey. The support you can offer me to help make this mission possible is greatly appreciated! And always, know that you are in my prayers!

With Love,

Brooke Brobst
