My Story

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to hear my story and the mission of Damascus.

I grew up in Severna Park, Maryland, and I love writing music and playing sports in my free time. I currently study Business Management and Theology at Saint Vincent College and will be joining the summer missionary program here at Damascus.

I was first introduced to Damascus through my amazing mother, who was a youth minister at the time, and she sent me and some friends to attend Damascus as campers. I went on to attend CYSC for 5 years as a camper, and I can’t imagine my life without it!

The Lord spoke to me and showed me the fullness of His great love during the hardest moments of my life. In a world that is so stricken with darkness, fear, and false identity, Jesus calls us to mission. The kingdom of God does not come about through power, wealth, or greed, but through peace, joy, love, and all the things that inspire me to take up a life that allows me to follow Jesus and live out the truth to the fullest.

In accepting this role as a member of the Counseling Staff, I will use my mission to give the youth in our world a chance to encounter the Lord of Hosts, who is alive in all of us, and to share the experience of living the adventure!

I would be blessed for you to consider joining me in my mission and sharing the goodness of God with those we encounter.

With love and joy in Christ,

David
