My Story

Hi! My name is Beth Beigel and I want to thank you for your prayers and support of me and the mission of Damascus.

I was born and raised in Steubenville, Ohio, where I still live as a student at Franciscan University. I am studying Biology with a Philosophy minor. This summer I will be serving with the counseling staff for Damascus as a part of Catholic Youth Summer Camp.

Although I never visited Damascus growing up, I have recently observed and been struck by the fruits flowing from Damascus, particularly through their ministry to youth. The more I heard the testimonies of those who have been to Damascus, the more I was convicted that it was a mission I wanted to be apart of. Jesus is encountering people and changing lives through Damascus.

The youth of today are hungry for God, although most have no idea who it is that they are searching for. Through middle school and high school I experienced the same hunger that I see now in youth today. Those were defining years of my life, and encountering God in that time changed the trajectory of my life forever. Over the years, as God has poured His love into my heart, He has also given me an increasing thirst to share His love with others, especially the youth of our generation, who need the Lord so deeply.

This is why I am choosing to serve with Damascus this summer. The youth of our generation need Jesus. I want to do anything I can to lead them to Him so that they experience His lifechanging love.

I believe Christ wants to radically encounter the youth of today. Will you join me on this mission to lead youth to the endless love of Christ this summer? I would be delighted to share this with you.

God bless,

Beth Beigel
