Hello and thank you for opening your heart to me and to the mission of Damascus.
My name is Isaac Bercel. I grew up in Freeland Michigan. I'm a freshman at Delta College and have no idea what I'm going to do for the rest of my life, but that's ok because God will lead me the right way.
I have never been to Catholic youth summer camp specifically, but I've gone to similar retreats such as the Steubenville Catholic Youth Conference. Through camps and conferences like Damascus, kids can truly grow in their relationship with God. I know this for a fact because it happened to me.
The youth of today want a relationship with God even if they don't know it yet. Many Youth feel they are alone and not worthy. At camp, they will have the opportunity to grow deeper in their faith with others in the same boat. While becoming disciples of Jesus they will learn that they are worthy and anything but alone. With Jesus we are whole.
This is why I choose to pursue the mission of Damascus. I hope to help guide young people to open their hearts to the Lord.
