My Story

Hello and welcome!

My name is Jack Collins, and I'm thrilled to share a bit about myself and my involvement this summer with Damascus Catholic Youth Summer Camp.

Hailing from the small town of Sturgis, Michigan, I was blessed to be raised in a bustling Catholic household, where the values of faith, community, and service were deeply ingrained. Following my high school years, I embarked on a journey out to Salt Lake City for what was initially intended as a gap year. However, I found myself drawn to the vibrant community at the University of Utah and decided to stay there for college.

Currently, I'm a senior at the University of Utah, pursuing a degree in accounting while actively participating in the university's Newman Center, St. Catherine of Sienna. My passion for service and faith (and the old Eagle Scout in me) has led me to eagerly anticipate the upcoming summer, where I'll be serving as part of the program staff at Damascus's Great Lakes summer camp.

Damascus Catholic Youth Summer Camp holds a special place in my heart, as it provides a unique opportunity for students in grades 6-12 to step away from the distractions of daily life and delve into high-adventure faith experiences.

Located in Brighton, Michigan, this camp offers a transformative journey where young people can encounter God's love and discover the adventure within their Catholic faith.

As I look forward to my role at the camp this summer, I am filled with excitement at the prospect of working with kids and guiding them on their spiritual journeys. I firmly believe in the power of faith-filled experiences and the Holy Spirit to shape and mold young hearts, and I am committed to helping create an environment where they can encounter God’s love in meaningful ways.

Join me in embracing the adventure of faith and supporting the mission of Damascus Catholic Youth Summer Camp.

Blessings,

Jack Collins
