About Me
My name is Joshua Cortez.

My Story

Hello and thank you for opening your heart to me and to the mission of Damascus!

I grew up in Brighton, Michigan, attended St. Patrick’s Catholic Parish, and am currently in my freshman year Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona where I’m studying Finance with an Emphasis in Financial Planning. This will be my first year serving at Damascus and I’m ecstatic to serve young souls this summer on Program Staff!

I began attending Catholic Youth Summer Camp as a sophomore in high school, and during my time at camp, I truly believe God opened my eyes and softened my heart so that I could experience what Saint John Paul ll meant when he said “Life with Christ is a wonderful adventure!”

Over the last year, God has worked through me and transformed my heart immensely. Through prayer, He revealed to me that it’s our deepest human desire to worship something, and how this yearning is displayed through various counterfeit outlets by young people all over America, when all we truly need is God!

This is why I am choosing to give to the mission of Damascus in the way I am; by giving my time to support this wonderful mission.

Will you join me in bringing souls to Christ, and seeing how He can set their hearts ablaze to transform their lives, families, and everything they encounter?

In Christ,

Joshua Cortez
