My Story

Hi! I’m Julia, and I am from Dallas, Texas.

I have been a part of the church ever since I could remember. I was baptized, received First Communion, and Reconciliation through my parish.

It was when I went to my first retreat that I learned about the importance of certain Catholic concepts: that God has a plan for us as well as the intense power of the Holy Spirit. Whenever I am caught up in societal expectations, I remind myself that God already won eternal life for us, so I am only expected to return that favor as I live on this earth.

Upon attending my first Catholic Youth Summer Camp at Damascus, I became interested in diving deeper into scripture after doing lectio divina (meaning “divine reading”) everyday during the weeklong retreat. Nowadays, I read passages whenever I am in need of guidance.

I am beyond grateful that this ministry has blessed me the opportunity to photograph their campers, and I am extremely excited to begin creating projects throughout the summer. Immersing myself in the video editing process, and capturing candid moments of the Holy Spirit moving in others is when I am truly in my element.

Thank you so much for your generosity. It means a lot to me to have others supporting me on my journey of revealing God's glory to His people.
